New book for the library

As regular readers of the blog know we continually add to the books in the reference library. Here is another: Hand weaving patterns from Finland.

Published in 1960 this book is a collaboration between an American teacher, Bertha Needham, and Finnish-born weaver, Ailij Marsh. The book is written for sinking/ falling shed looms, and includes patterns for drapery, summer and winter apparel fabrics, men's clothing fabrics, aprons... It is a concise yet comprehensive guide full of patterns and ideas for anyone to try.

The library is open to the public for use. To book time send us an email and while away a few hours looking through the ever-growing number of books that we have been gathering.
