Shetland's first textiles festival

Yesterday we went on a trip to Lerwick for the opening day of the International Textiles Festival. A lovely afternoon full of inspiration and ideas, and good to chat to everyone afterwards too.

The Festival has been organised as part of the "In the Loop" series so it takes knitting rather than weave as its starting point but that made it more interesting for me. We heard talks from graduates, a playwright, two artists and a librarian curator. Very good mix of things to talk about and to get excited about too.

The Textiles Festival is on this weekend and there is lots to see and do. It is great to meet people from across Shetland and from all over the world who have come to the islands for the event.
