Fashion at a time of war
The Imperial War Museum has just opened a new exhibition about style and fashion during the Second World War.
At a time when clothes were in short supply and everyone had to "Make Do and Mend", there was a surprising amount of stylish dressing. Silk parachutes were made into undergarments and dresses, blankets recycled into jackets, and all this when rationing was the order of the day.
Have a look at the show - Fashion on a Ration - on the Imperial War Museum website and click on the link at the bottom of the page to see some of the articles in the exhibition. The show runs until August 31st 2015.
