Fair Isle hits the catwalk

Did you see the latest show by fashion house Chanel?

The show features beautiful patterns and colours, espeically those from Fair Isle! Yup. The Fair Isle tradition has been picked up again by the fashion industry and is really making a striking comeback. 

We loved the show. Chanel recreated a Parisian scene of streets and shops, restaurants and cafes, complete with audience seated on chairs on the pavements, and models walking (well, strutting really) along the aforementioned streets. What theatre!

I hope this means a real boost for the knitwear and tweed industry in Shetland as well as for Chanel. Fair Isle - the gift that just keeps on giving!
