Embroidering Hong Kong's neon signs
Percy Lam is using embroidery to capture the bustling city's neon signs, recreating them in bright stitching on black paper. It is partly because these iconic sights are disappearing from Hong Kong and he wants to help preserve their memory, and also because the stitches are helping him to reconnect with his city of birth. Here is an Atlas Obscura article from March this year about Percy, embroidery and the neon signs of Hong Kong.
