An embroidered bug
The artist Lindsay Taylor has been busy with her embroidered and sewn pieces which depict the natural world in all its glory.
Besotted as I am with insects and bugs, I have just acquired a beautiful rare Blue Ground Beetle, made from cotton threads and wire, along with an embroidered leaf on which the beetle sits. Both are comfortably ensconsed in a glass-fronted lepidoptera drawer and suitable labelled with the name and date of collection. If you fancy seeing the specimen, email and I shall be glad to show off my new find. Perhaps one day I will be able to purchase these amazing fish (pictured opposite by the artist) which Lindsay was also showing last week. Beautiful!
