An Easter tradition
According to old superstition, wearing new clothes at Easter meant good luck for the rest of the year, and it seems that the chance to show off some fashionable taste did not go unmissed in the mid-1800s. Parishioners leaving their Fifth Avenue churches would have an impromptu fashion show and this has now become the extravaganza that is the Easter Parade and Bonnet Festival!
Although there won't be a chance to have the Parade this year, dressing up always makes us feel better so how about doing just that on Sunday? We will be having a sit-down lunch dressed up to the nines. If you want to send pictures of you and yours doing that too, they can go on the blog next week
Here is to a peaceful Easter for all of us.
