Dr Maureen Lander

Dr Maureen Lander is an internationally known artist who celebrates Maori heritage, tradition and skill alongside experimentation and innovation.

Having learned weaving from the noted Maori weaver Diggeress Te Kanawa, Dr Lander, the first Maori to gain a PhD in Fine Arts from a New Zealand university, has been made a Laureate for her work. You can read more about the artist here.
