A little bit of help
As many of you know, a couple of years back, I started to paint and draw. Now there is an opportunity to learn and you could help!
The Drawing Academy is an online course with help available from tutors, video lessons and much more besides. Every few months the Academy has a competition and three people who get the most votes are awarded a lifetime membership to the course. This time around I have entered.
Painting and drawing is becoming central to the textiles work I do in the studio. I like to use the paintings of Shetland's land and seascapes to choose colours and tones, and at the moment am enjoying life drawing, learning how to draw people. However I am just a beginner and I need help to improve. Shona for The Shetland Gallery has been very supportive and has given me a lot of advice, for which I am hugely grateful, but I think that the discipline of having lessons on themes will give a different perspective (!) and help even more.
If you would like to, you can vote for my entry by using this link and following the instructions on the page. The winner will be announced on the 28th February. Fingers crossed!
