More about embroidery
This week seems to be focused on embroidery, thanks in part to visitors to the studio.
Gill and David came in to see us and we spent a happy while chatting about the embroidery work Gill has done, including on the Scottish Diaspora Tapestry, a series of panels depicting the Scots influence across the globe. You can see the work on the Diaspora Tapestry website and see some of the famous Scots who travelled to places like South Africa, New Zealand, Chile and Sri Lanka.
Our conversation also took in The Prestopans Tapestry, Northampton Charter Tapestry and Constance Howard. What a lovely and unexpected visit. Thank you for visiting and sharing your experiences, Gill and David.
To top off the week, a new book has been added to the library. Helen M Stevens' World of Embroidery is a charming book, full of illustrations and examples of the artist's work depicting nature. Who couldn't but love a dogfish like the one above?
