Costume Institute of the African Diaspora

The Costume Institute of the African Diaspora (CIAD) is an organisation dedicated to researching clothing and adornment from and relating to the African Diaspora.

The organisation held its Biennial Dress Conference on Friday this week and the list of speakers and topics looks fascinating. CIAD also held an exhibition in 2014 on tartan in the diaspora as you can read about on the Victoria and Albert Museum blog here.

 Now that things are returning to relative normaility, we look forward to receiving more news from CIAD.
