Changeable weather

The isles are always beautiful but this year they seem to be even more so!

We are very fortunate to live in a place where space and light makes the landscape vast and open. On the tours of the islands we experience a lot of Shetland, weather included. This Spring though we have had even more of an experience than usual. Bright sunshine and showers, hail, sleet, and warmth, all in the space of a week. It all makes for Dramatic Viewing and, as long as we wear layers, we are warm enough.

On this last tour we visited ponies and Shetland sheepdogs as well as some of the lesser-known areas of the isles. A group which is relaxed and keen to explore is always a joy to take around and we had a wonderful time seeing some of my favourite places in the North Isles as well as the North Mainland.

Having lived here for eighteen years one would think that there is nothing new but that is not a true. There is always something unfamiliar, and it is good to see our home through other eyes too.
