Binary blankets for all

Brooklyn artist, Phillip Stearns, has created these patterns using binary data extracted from computers.

The patterns are woven using a Jacquard loom from data taken from a computer's memory. A clever piece of software then uses that data to create colours and patterns which the loom then weaves. It took a few minutes for me to understand what was going on and the video on the designboom website helped a lot. Now I want a blanket made out of this fabric!
