Venice Biennale 2015

Chiharu Shiota's Venice Biennale piece Chiharu Shiota's Venice Biennale pieceIf you are interested in art you will know that the Venice Biennale has just begun, and this piece by the Japanese artist, Chiharu Shiota, is absolutely beautiful.

Based on the idea of memory, the work uses keys collected from people all over the world which are suspended above two boats in a cloud of red yarn. It is evocative, beautiful and poignant, and the thought that has gone into it must have taken a lot of time. Even the pictures made the tears well up...

We saw the piece courtesy of our friends over at designboom.com where you can see more pictures, and now we want to visit it in the Japanese Pavilion in person. If you go, please let us know about your favourite pieces too.
