Can computers recognise storylines and write music?
Here is an interesting topic. Can computers create meaningful music? From the sounds of this report, I think that music that truly moves us still relies on a composer. In this report from the BBC, the compositional software that writes (and performs?) music takes one composer's output and analyses it before creating music based on what it has learnt about that music. I wonder if, one day, as computers learn more about what we like and don't like, they will write the music that truly moves us?
