Bacteria in fashion

Advances in the techniques of dyeing in fashion include the use of bacteria.

We are often asked about natural dyes and if we use them in the studio. The reply, much as I would like to answer in the affirmative, is "No, because we would denude the islands of vegetation." As one of the major polluters and water users in the world, fashion is culpable and artists and scientists are trying to make things better.
