An ice mural

An artist, Sean Yoro, from Hawaii has created a mural on the ice in the Arctic to tell the world about people affected by climate change.

The webpage on designboom.com has a beautiful film of the project. It reminded me so much of the far-too-short time I spent in Greenland with friends in the Spring of the year, and it shows the background to the project, why the artist wanted to paint a portrait in the ice, and how the team actually did this. It is a poignant and telling reminder of the wonderful resilience of Arctic people amidst the harsh fragility of this icy world.
