Footwear for cold weather

The Arctic requires some creative thinking if people are going to live there. Yet the Far North has been home to people for an estimated 40,000 years. Probably thanks to beautiful footwear like this.

Boots and shoes made from fish skins, or hide, fur and beads, these pieces belong to the Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto. Wouldn't you just love to visit?!
