Article of the Week - number thirty five - Aesop's Fables

Dame Elizabeth Frink was a sculptor and printmaker who explored natural forms in her immediately-recognisable work. 

The book, Aesop's Fables, in the collection was published in September 1968 by The Curwen Press and is number 112 of the 250 imprint edition. It is comprised of each story's text and an image or two to go alongside. The lithographs were completed in July 1968 by Elizabeth Frink.

The artist's work included a few textiles, amongst which was Warriors for Edinburgh Weavers and Snowy Owl for Christies Contemporary Art. (pictured).
