An intriguing workshop

The islands are a wonderful place for artists and craftspeople to live and work. The beautiful scenery and friendly folk make our home a place to explore through all sorts of media, and we are very pleased to meet and to work with so many talented people here. This summer, for the first time, we have been fortunate to bring together a photographer and an artist, who will be offering a workshop with support from ASF Shetland, on an exploration of Black and White. This workshop is on July 14th, and is in two parts, a morning photography session with Regina Verheyen, and an afternoon mixed-media session with Amy Fisher and Andy Ross. We will be receiving tuition on photography techniques, hints and tips for outside shooting, and, after a break, returning to the Centre in Yell where we will be using our photographs to explore art and design. Black and White is a fascinating way to study textures, shades and the impact of colour. The workshop will help us to see and interpret what we view differently, and is suitable for ages nine to adult. If you would like more information, please contact Andy on 01957 744 355 or email: globalyell@btconnect.com. The workshop runs from 10am until 5pm, and costs £35 per person. Tea and coffee is included. Please wear warm clothes and walking shoes, and bring lunch.
