Amy Gair
Our Stay and Make weaver, Amy Gair, has completed her time at the studio and is now going back to university.
Amy has been working here on interiors fabrics for the studio using local yarns and inspiration from the island scenery and the Adies of Voe collection held in the Archive Store. We want to wish her lots of luck while she away and look forward to her coming back to work with us in future.
These are a couple of pictures of the woven fabric that Amy made while she was here. The full lengths are in the studio and we are going to make them into cushions and curtains for sale next year. Congratulations and thank you, Amy!
The Stay and Make programme is an exchange. Applications are normally open year round and, in return for a pattern and colourway, the studio provides equipment, advice and help. The programme is closed for a few months from the end of September 2013 and will open again in 2014.
