Weavers we know - Angharad McLaren

In 2007, our first year of the weave studio in Yell, we hosted Angharad McLaren. Angharad made us stripey scarves inspired by the Adies of Voe collection which were the first products we sold.

Ms McLaren went on to design blinds in the Shetland Museum restaurant and continues to use Shetland Wool for cushions and bags, as well as setting up her own studio and practice in Scotland. In fact, if you fancy meeting Angharad and you are in the Highlands, pop along to her Darning workshop in a couple of weekend's time, or on the 31st May in John Lewis in Aberdeen.

Angharad and a friend, Shielagh Tacey, will also be in Shetland in October for Wool Week. The two of them will be in the studio in Yell, weaving, demonstrating and chatting about all things textile-y. We wil post more information soon about the events.
