Shetland Heritage tea towels

Adies was a weave concern in the lovely village of Voe on the Mainland of Shetland. Selling worldwide, the company finally ceased trading in the 1980's and the archive collection was given to the Shetland Museum and Archives while some of the pieces were given to the Shetland Textile Museum.

GlobalYell is very proud to have produced tea towels from three different Adies pieces. The samples that have been reproduced in full bright colour on 100% cotton towels were woven as pieces to show prospective buyers and so we have been careful to keep the labels as part of the history of the pieces.

The towels are available at £8.50 each from our shop and we are happy to quote for posting out. They will be available in local shops soon too - Ninian, Shetland Textile Museum and Hoswick Visitor Centre, all places that have historic and contemporary links to Shetland textiles.
