Abeer Seikaly

In 2015, Abeer designed a tent for displaced people. It used fabric, pleated for water collection and storage, and stored solar energy for renewable electricity. You can read about that project here.

A new project explores the role of women in man's world - to be specific, it looks at the practice in which women weave homes in Bedouin communities from goat and sheep fibres. Unlike the structures erected by men from stone and concrete, these tents are portable and do not leave ruins behind. insightful and provocative, this is a project to make one think about "home".
