Weave in nursery

The Robertson Trust has donated some money towards our weaving in nursery departments in Shetland project. This project is the beginning of our education scheme, taking weave into schools and teaching children and young people about the discipline.

We think that, if we start teaching children from a very young age, they are more likely to value and appreciate the skill that goes into weaving in the future. Weaving is a wonderful discipline and it takes years of study and effort to be able to make a living out of it. By teaching the children, perhaps they will understand more about it and perhaps we will even be teaching the makers of the future!
