In March 2020 the studios in Yell closed and now plans are underway to reopen in September for a few weeks.
From the 3rd September the studios will be hosting activities and will be open to the public by appointment until the 20th September. During the three weeks we will be holding a creative reading and writing workshop with Jen Hadfield (see the poster on this page for details), a small exhibition of unique flora paintings by Pamela Golden (Senior Tutor in Painting at the Royal College of Art), and a streamed session of weaving for beginners with Andy which will give some basic information about making a warp and getting it on the loom by demonstrating the process with a learner weaver.
There will also be more sessions for the Creative Wellbeing Festival including the Festival session itself. You can find out more on the Wellbeing link above or contact Kate by email.
If you are in Shetland and fancy a trip northwards please get in touch to book a time. If you are not in the isles but would like a chat and see the changes in the studio, please get in touch to arrange a time for a Zoom call. You can call or WhatsApp or SMS on +44 (0)7900 430 429 or email.
After so long away it is going to be good to get back one last time before we head off to New Zealand. Plans for the future of the studio, including residencies and masterclasses, are going well and we look forward to sharing those in due course.
