2012 Programme | Orkney Storytelling Festival

The islands have a great tradition of storytelling, probably because of the Nordic influences with their sagas and epics. One of Shetland's storytellers, Lawrence Tulloch, used to live in Gutcher and I have been very lucky to have been introduced to dialect through him and Margaret, his wife. They also introduced me to Tom Muir from Orkney and this has just come in from Tom on Facebook. Perhaps it is time to look at a Shetland storytelling festival too?
