The 14th February
Valetine’s Day is a time to send loving messages but once “Vinegar Valentines” could ruin a friendship.
We all know that Valentine’s Day is when people send cards and tokens to loved ones. In Victorian England though it was also a time for politics and telling would-be suitors to go away. Have a look at this webpage which gives an overview of the day, and, at the bottom of the page, shows some of these “Vinegar Valentines”. These would probably signal the abrupt end of a good relationship!
