Warp and weft exhibition

A message from Laura Thomas about the show which has just opened. It is really worth a look if you are able.

Hi everyone, Just to let you know that the warp+weft exhibition I curated for Oriel Myrddin Gallery in Carmarthen is now on tour. It's just opened at Craft in the Bay, Cardiff, with a couple of additional exhibits as its a slightly bigger venue. Of particular note, I delighted that we've been able to loan Maelstrom by Lucy McMullen from ASF Shetland - many thanks to Andy Ross. You can see an image and further details of it here:

The exhibition is at Craft in the Bay until the 16th February, and is open daily from 10.30 - 5.30pm. I will be giving a free gallery talk at 2pm on the 22nd January. There are also two weave workshops running to coincide with the show:

Silk Inlay Weaving with Sue Hiley Harris 29-30 Jan Woven Passementerie with Jessica light 5-6 Feb http://www.makersguildinwales.org.uk/

The show will then go to Smith's Row in Bury St Edmunds - open from Saturday 12 March - Saturday 30 April. As this is an even bigger venue, they are also showing the sister show I put together for the National Wool Musuem 'warp+weft: from handloom to production'.

Many thanks,

Laura Thomas www.laurathomas.co.uk http://laurathomaswoventextiles.blogspot.com/ http://thewarpandweftblog.blogspot.com/
