Jumpers... for penguins?!

You've heard of bananas in pyjamas. How about penguins in jumpers?

The internet is a marvellous place, full of interesting and unusual things that most of us probably would never even consider. The WeaveTech forum on Yahoo is one place that often has those quirky things that catch my eye. So, how about this one; knitting sweaters for penguins?

The Penguin Foundation in South Australia is looking for knitters to make small jumpers to protect the birds from ingesting  oil, oil that clogs their feathers and breaks down the waterproof layer which protects them from cold. The sweater pattern can be downloaded from the website and an interview is also on the site which explains more about the project. Go on! Knit a sweater for a penguin.
